I hope you’re enjoying the summer. It’s hard to believe our kids’ summer vacation is half over. Amazing how time flies when you are having fun, so I wanted to remind everyone how important it is to ensure that children are reading over the summer.

The cumulative impact of summer learning loss for lower socio-economic children in the first five years of schooling is three years of learning lost. We cannot afford to lose any precious educational time with our children.

So grab a book and an ice-cold glass of water, then head toward a shady tree or a comfortable chair and enjoy a good book together with your child. Happy Reading.
