Healthcare Georgia Foundation presented Live Healthy Baldwin with the 2018 Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award during a ceremony at its statewide conference in Atlanta this month.

Live Healthy Baldwin is Baldwin Family Connection’s lead partner in the Collaborative’s cohort work. For the past five years, Baldwin Family Connection has focused on decreasing childhood obesity by increasing opportunities for physical activity, easier access to healthy food choices and increased awareness of the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to recognize the selfless efforts of these often unsung local health heroes,” said Healthcare Georgia Foundation President Gary D. Nelson. “The impact of their passion, leadership, and commitment to improving the health of their communities is remarkable and their volunteer service inspires countless others to do the same.”

The Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award honors individuals, nonprofit health organizations, and community collaboratives committed to improving the quality of health and healthcare of those they serve, because they are making a difference in the quality of life for all Georgians.
