Blessing Bags Provide Need for Baldwin County Children

The Baldwin County community is coming together to provide food for at-risk children on the weekends.

Blessing Bags are filled with non-perishable items that provide kids with a balanced meal, including cereal, a fruit cup, and ravioli.  The program includes pre-k to fifth grade children.  Multiple churches in Milledgeville are involved with the program as well as a local food pantry.

Janet Calvin of the Baldwin County Family Connection group, is over the program and says there are children in Milledgeville who might not be able to eat anything from Friday afternoon until Monday morning.  Calvin says the program is a way to reach out as a community to enable our children to feel more secure and healthy.  Cavin adds the Blessing Bags mean so much to the children.

If you would like to donate non-perishable items or money to the Blessing Bags program you can contact the Baldwin County Family Connection at 478-457-2000.
