October is Georgia Farm to School and Early Care and Education Month
Print This PostGovernor Brian Kemp issued a proclamation recognizing October 2026 as Georgia Farm to School and Early Care and Education Month. The theme is “Taste the State.”
PEACH partner Georgia Organics led an October Farm to School and Early Care Month campaign for many years. Each year the campaign celebrated a different fruit or veggie and included free access for educators to lesson plans, activities, recipes, garden and school nutrition resources. The Partners in ECE Advancing Child Health (PEACH) Collaborative and Georgia Family Connection Partnership (GaFCP) are honored to continue the tradition and steward this year’s campaign.
“Taste the State” was selected from several ideas from PEACH Collaborative partners and state agency representatives working in nutrition. This theme celebrates the foods grown across Georgia and the farmers, teachers and child health champions that help children explore and love fruits and vegetables through farm to school and early care activities.
There are many Georgia partners celebrating October Farm to School and Early Care and Education month. Visit these partner websites to check out their free FTS and FTECE activities, graphics, lessons plans, menus, professional development opportunities, and more.
