Georgia ranks 39th in child well-being, according to the 2025 KIDS COUNT® Data Book by Georgia KIDS COUNT. The report reveals rising poverty, lower reading/ math proficiency, and persistent health and economic disparities.
Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition (CGIC), a Georgia Family Connection Collaborative, is addressing these challenges through data-driven strategies. Kim Clifton, executive director, emphasizes targeted efforts, including:
- Monitoring the Chatham Community Blueprint with stakeholders.
- Leading the Chatham Family Connection Collaborative to improve child well-being.
- Advocating for trauma-informed programs and poverty reduction.
As coastal Georgia’s only regional data aggregator, CGIC tracks 290+ indicators, supports Resilient Coastal Georgia, and provides tools for policymakers and nonprofits.
The organization drives community well-being through data, partnerships, and strategic initiatives as part of Georgia Family Connection.
