It’s time to sharpen those pencils and get creative! The Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) PBS KIDS Writers Contest is officially open to Georgia students in grades K – 3. The deadline to enter is Friday, March 29.

Children are encouraged to submit original, illustrated stories for great prizes and a chance to be featured on the GPB website.

Each grade will have first, second, and third place winners. Your story could also win the STEAM Award! If your story incorporates science, technology, engineering, arts, or math, it is eligible to win this category.

This activity packet contains a series of resources to help students break down the process of story writing. It includes a teacher’s guide with printable documents to help students with brainstorming, revising, illustrating, and caption-writing.

Check out last year’s winners.
