Georgia Family Connection Partnership is teaming up with Lt. Governor Casey Cagle for the third annual Be Healthy Georgia Day at the Capitol on Saturday, March 9.

The day will begin in a fun and healthy way with the Atlanta Track Club (ATC) Kilometer Kids One-Mile Fun Run at 9 a.m. The police-escorted kids run for ages 7-12 features a fun course around the State Capitol Building and Atlanta City Hall. This free family event will be full of music, give-a-ways and fun. Not to mention mascots from across Georgia who will compete in the Mascot Trot for top bragging rights in the Dole Fit City.

Be sure to bring your Sharpie markers and have your camera ready, because Falcons cheerleaders, Georgia Olympians, Atlanta Dream’s Lindsey Harding, and other special guests are going to participate the day’s festivities.

This event will kick off the 2012 Healthy Kids Georgia Week, a week creating awareness to encourage Georgia’s families and kids to live healthier lifestyles.
